ragamuffin

we are all equally privileged but unentitled beggars at the door of Gods mercy!

~RagaMuFFiN PraYeR~

Lord Jesus, we are silly sheep who have dared to stand before You and
try to bribe You with our preposterous portfolios. Suddenly we have
come to our senses. We are sorry and ask You to forgive us.
Give us the grace to admit we are ragamuffins, to embrace our brokenness,
to celebrate Your mercy when we are at our weakest, to rely on Your
mercy no matter what we may do. Dear Jesus, gift us to stop grandstanding
and trying to get attention, to do with the truth quietly without
display, to let the dishonesties in our lives fade away, to accept our
limitations, to cling to the gospel of grace, and to delight in Your love.
Amen.

God Poetry

Integrity is the glue that holds our way of life together. We must constantly strive to keep our integrity intact. When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost.

Here is a revelation bright as the evening star: Jesus comes for sinners, for those as outcast as tax collectors and for those caught up in squalid choices and failed dreams. He comes for corporate executives, street people, superstars, farmers, hookers, addicts, IRS agents, AIDS victims, and even used car salesman. Jesus not only talks with these people but dines with them--fully aware that his table fellowship with sinners will raise the eyes of the religious bureaucrats who hold up the robes and insignia of their authority to justify their condemnation of the truth and their rejection of the Gospel of Grace.

In prayer it is better to have a heart without words than words without a heart.

Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
As long as ever you can.

Not a whisper of prayer is ever lost, the longer it waits,
the larger it becomes.

Days of Heaven on Earth

I watched the sun go down all by myself
I talked to God for long as night is
I took my cross and put it down
I rested in his arms, I rested in his arms
until the son rose.

Sometimes my life just don't make sense at all .. So hold me Jesus, 'cause I'm shaking like a leaf.

This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

~The Atheist and The Bear~

An atheist was taking a walk through the woods, admiring all that the "accident of evolution" had created. "What majestic trees! What powerful rivers! What beautiful animals!" he said to himself.

As he was walking alongside the river he heard a rustling in the bushes behind him. He turned to look. He saw a 7-foot grizzly charge towards him. He ran as fast as he could up the path. He looked over his shoulder and saw that the bear was closing. He ran even faster, so scared that tears were coming to his eyes. He looked over his shoulder again, and the bear was even closer. His heart was pumping
frantically and he tried to run even faster. He tripped and fell to the ground. He rolled over to pick himself up but saw the bear, right on top of him: reaching for him with his left paw and raising his right paw to strike him.

At that instant the atheist cried out "Oh my God!...."

Time stopped.
The bear froze.
The forest was silent.
Even the river stopped moving.

As a bright light shone upon the man, a voice came out of the sky: "You deny my existence for all of these years; teach others I don't exist; and, even credit creation to a cosmic accident. Do you expect me to help you out of this predicament? Am I to count you as a believer?"

The atheist looked directly into the light: "It would be
hypocritical of me to suddenly ask You to treat me as a Christian now, but perhaps could you make the bear a Christian?"

"Very well," the voice said.

The light went out.

The river ran again.

And the sounds of the forest resumed.

And then the bear dropped its right paw.....brought both
Paws together.... bowed its head and spoke:

"Lord, for this food which I am about to receive, I am truly thankful."
